Take the El Cerrito Parks Challenge!

How well do you know El Cerrito’s parks?

This summer, Jenny K and Well Grounded are challenging our community to get outside, explore the city, and visit all 13 El Cerrito parks. Whether you already have a favorite neighborhood park or have been meaning to discover a few new ones, the El Cerrito Parks Challenge is a fun reason to see more of the city we love.

How the Challenge Works

Visit all 13 El Cerrito parks and take a photo at each one. Once you have completed the challenge, submit your photos using our online form:

Everyone who completes the challenge will receive:

• A $5 Jenny K gift card

• A free coffee coupon from Well Grounded

Completed entries will also be entered into our grand-prize drawing at National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4.

The grand prize includes an El Cerrito Parks lunch tote, Jenny K and Well Grounded gift cards, and perhaps the most uniquely El Cerrito prize of all: an El Cerrito park bathroom key donated by the City of El Cerrito!

Show Your El Cerrito Pride

While you are out exploring, wear your favorite El Cerrito T-shirt and turn your park photos into a little hometown photo tour.

Jenny K carries locally designed El Cerrito shirts for adults and kids, making them perfect for park adventures, neighborhood events, family photos, and showing a little local pride wherever you go.

Already have one? Wear it for the challenge and tag Jenny K when you share your park photos. Still need one? Stop by Jenny K before you head out and pick your favorite color.

Make It a Family Adventure

The Parks Challenge is an easy activity to do with children, friends, visiting family members, or anyone who could use an excuse to get outside.

You can complete the parks all in one ambitious day, spread them out over a weekend, or visit a few at a time. Pack snacks, bring water, and make a day of exploring different parts of El Cerrito.

You may discover a new playground, a peaceful place to walk, a great picnic spot, or a park you have driven past for years without ever stopping.

Finish Before National Night Out

There is still time to complete the challenge before National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.

Join us that evening for a free neighborhood barbecue, live music, and the grand-prize drawing. Potluck dishes are welcome, but not required.
