50 Years of Rainbow 1000-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle from Oakland Puzzle Company

Created to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Rainbow Grocery Cooperative, this 1,000-piece puzzle features a stunning rainbow gradient collage built from photographs taken throughout the store. It’s a meaningful, locally inspired puzzle that’s as thoughtful as it is beautiful.
DeAnna and Anna met through an online community group and bonded over cooperative business models, puzzles, birds, and more. Together they envisioned this project, photographing details around Rainbow Grocery. Artist Innosanto Nagara then assembled the images into a colorful collage honoring five decades of community-powered food.
Rainbow Grocery Cooperative opened in 1975 on 16th Street near Valencia in San Francisco, emerging from The People’s Food System movement of the 1970s. Built with volunteer labor, it became a pioneering vegetarian alternative long before natural foods became mainstream—and remains a recognized Legacy and Green business today.
